Once again, our friends from Aquaventura were back for another week of adventure. Although the wind forced us to change our plans, the trip turned out to be an absolute success. The weather forecast ruled out the Brothers Islands, so, to make the most of the only two days of calm seas, we quickly headed towards Abu Nuhas.
There, in addition to exploring some of the most iconic wrecks in the Red Sea, we enjoyed one of the best dolphin encounters we can remember in years. We spent time with them both diving and snorkelling, until we were completely exhausted. An absolutely incredible experience. We continued on to the legendary Thistlegorm, including one of those night dives that leaves everyone completely amazed.
Then came Ras Mohammed, which is currently at its very best. Endless schools of batfish and sweetlips, eagle rays, turtles... and even an unexpected visit from a devil ray! As our week was coming to an end, we reached the Straits of Tiran, where we enjoyed some of the healthiest and most spectacular reefs in the Red Sea. A special mention must go to the dive at Jackson Reef’s coral garden, where it feels as though Finding Nemo has come to life: corals in a thousand colours, fish everywhere, and the constant feeling that an unexpected visitor could appear at any moment.
José took home the title of Mr Red Sea 2026, a completely undeserved award and the result of a blatant fix. Meanwhile, the girls were once again responsible for keeping the good atmosphere going, organising games, laughter and the occasional bit of madness until everyone was exhausted. And, of course, we cannot forget the now-famous tattoo afternoon on board… although, as we always say, what happens in the Red Sea stays in the Red Sea. We said goodbye already longing to have them back on board. It has now been 23 years of travelling together, sharing underwater adventures and creating unforgettable memories. And, if things continue as they have so far, we are convinced that many more years still lie ahead.
