This week we headed south to experience one of our most special itineraries: Shark Expedition. A true adventure in search of the Red Sea’s great pelagic species.
Sea conditions couldn’t have been better, allowing us to enjoy smooth sailing while covering the long distances between some of the most remote dive sites on this itinerary: Daedalus, Elphinstone and the Brothers Islands.
And the effort certainly paid off. Underwater, we enjoyed encounters with several species of sharks, including hammerhead sharks, oceanic whitetip sharks, grey reef sharks and other impressive inhabitants of these reefs. But, as always, these places are about much more than sharks: their spectacular walls, huge schools of fish and all the marine life surrounding these great predators make every dive a true adventure.
On board we welcomed several different groups from across Catalonia, many of them returning guests who once again placed their trust in us in search of new experiences in the Red Sea. And if there is one thing that makes expeditions to such remote locations special, it is that combination of excitement, anticipation and a little uncertainty, never knowing exactly what we might encounter when we jump into the water.
This time, we were also able to surprise our friends with a dive on the Salem Express, the perfect finishing touch to an incredibly complete week of diving.
But beyond the sharks, the reefs and the most remote dive sites, we are taking home what continues to be the most important thing for us: the people we share it with. It has been an incredibly fun week, full of laughter, great vibes and plenty of “hairdressing” moments shared on board.
Now it’s time to head home, although we know many are already doing the maths and thinking about the next adventure. Because after a “Naboleon” Expedition… it’s hard not to start imagining what the next Red Sea adventure might be.
