Red Sea Classic North Route from August 8th to 15th

We’ve wrapped up another fantastic week, this time on the Northern Red Sea route, feeling incredibly lucky for everything we experienced and saw. We started in Ras Mohammed National Park, which has been simply incredible this year.

Schools of sweetlips, batfish, turtles, huge stingrays and corals in every shape and colour imaginable… a true spectacle that everyone enjoyed to the fullest. We then arrived at Shag Rock and, for many, it was one of the most beautiful dives of the week.

On those days when this site gives us little or no current, and we are also able to moor at the wreck, we can enjoy a relaxed dive through one of the healthiest coral gardens in these waters. At the Thistlegorm, we had the less-than-welcome company of other boats, but we managed our dive times carefully so that we could dive practically on our own, especially during one of the best night dives we’ve ever experienced on board. Simply beyond words.

Once in Tiran, we were joined by whitetip reef sharks and more turtles and, while searching for hammerhead sharks, some of us were lucky enough to encounter a very large specimen just moments after entering the water.

Many of this week’s guests had travelled with us before (and quite a few were serious repeat offenders, we have to say!), which made the atmosphere even more special, with laughter and conversations lasting late into the night every day. It has been one of those weeks that flies by, leaves its mark and makes you want to do it all over again.
